Female Football

We are committed to providing opportunities for female footballers in the AFL Barwon Region, from Senior Women’s Football, through to junior girls’ level football.

Both our senior women’s teams are dedicated, inclusive, dynamic, and highly successful part of the overall Grovedale Tigers Football Netball Club; and participated in the inaugural AFL Barwon Senior Women’s Football competition in 2018.

The team’s first year was a remarkable success, measured against anyone’s standards; particularly with around 90% of our players new to the game. Our success included: preliminary finalists, two players in AFL Barwon team of the year, six players in the Top-12 of the AFL Barwon League Best and Fairest, and the senior coach in the final top-five of the outstanding senior football coaches in the AFL Barwon region.

2024 was our most successful year to date with our Senior Women winning the Division 1 Premiership.
